Easiest way to start a project in Adobe Premiere Pro
Creating a new project in Adobe Premiere Pro can be a long and time-consuming step with a lot of decisions having to be made.
But with the new “new project” window, it is easier than ever.
Easiest way to start a project in Adobe Premiere Pro
This is how you do it:
Open up Premiere Pro. Click “New project” to the left and see this new much simpler window pop up.
Name the project, select location, set template to “None”, and select the “Skip import mode” and then click “OK”.
Now, you get straight to the “Edit” layout in Premiere Pro and can start editing. Here you can either click the new “Import media”-button that is visible in the “Project” window IF you don’t have any files there, or you can simply drag a file from outside Premiere Pro and drop it into the “Project” window.
(The “import media”-button will disappear, but you can still open the import window by clicking ”Cmd + I”)
Now, drag that file from the “Project” window into the “Timeline” window, and it will create a new sequence based on the same framerate and dimensions as the file.
Another tip when setting up your project that will save you a lot of time is how to organize the files in your project folder, which I’ve done a separate tutorial about that I will link here.
