How to get the most out of Brevidy Media Browser

When adding elements to your footage with the Brevidy Media Browser, you can adjust the animations for these videos, images, GIFs, and emojis, and this is how.

How to get the most out of Brevidy Media Browser

With the Brevidy plugin, you can automatically add footage and animations to your video project, and if you don’t know what Brevidy is, you can check out my previous post about how it works and how to install it.

But let’s say you have a car emoji πŸš— that you’ve added with Brevidy, and you want to animate it so it looks like this:
1. Slide in from the left
2. Wiggle a little bit
3. Then slide out to the right.

The first thing you do is to go to the β€œEffects” panel, search for β€œflip” and add the effect β€œHorizontal Flip” to the emoji in the timeline so it’s pointing to the right.

Then, with the emoji selected, you go to the β€œBrevidy Media Browser” panel, click β€œIntro”, click β€œFrom”, and select β€œFrom Left Slow”.

Then click β€œConstant”, click β€œShake”, and select β€œWiggle Subtle”.

And finally click β€œOutro”, click β€œTo”, and β€œTo Right Slow”.
(And don’t forget to click β€œUpdate” at the bottom.)

Now, to customize these animations, click on β€œIntro” again, and then click the little β€œSettings” 🎚️ button at the bottom. Here we can for example slow down the speed, and change to β€œLinear” animation to keep the same speed throughout the animation.

We can do the same thing with the β€œOutro”, drag down the speed, and change the animation to β€œLinear”.

And finally, we click β€œConstant” and decrease the β€œIntensity” and then click β€œUpdate”.

Now, we can go to the β€œEffects” panel, search for β€œcross” and right click on β€œCross Dissolve” and then click β€œSet selected as Default Transition”.

This creates a little blue square around the effect so that when you click something in the β€œTimeline” panel and then click β€œcmd + D”, it will add that specific effect to the start and the end of that clip or image.

Then, we put the playhead in the middle of the clip, go to the β€œEffect Controls” panel, and under β€œTransform” (which is the effect that Brevidy has generated), we click on the stopwatch ⏱️ next to β€œScale” to remove all keyframes and click β€œOK” in the pop-up.

This will make the car have the same size throughout the animation.

And finally, we go up to β€œMotion” at the very top of the β€œEffect Controls” panel and increase the β€œY-value”, to move the whole animation down to the bottom, and there we go.
