How to get the most out of Brevidy Media Browser
When adding elements to your footage with the Brevidy Media Browser, you can adjust the animations for these videos, images, GIFs, and emojis, and this is how.
How to get the most out of Brevidy Media Browser
With the Brevidy plugin, you can automatically add footage and animations to your video project, and if you donβt know what Brevidy is, you can check out my previous post about how it works and how to install it.
But letβs say you have a car emoji π that youβve added with Brevidy, and you want to animate it so it looks like this:
1. Slide in from the left
2. Wiggle a little bit
3. Then slide out to the right.
The first thing you do is to go to the βEffectsβ panel, search for βflipβ and add the effect βHorizontal Flipβ to the emoji in the timeline so itβs pointing to the right.
Then, with the emoji selected, you go to the βBrevidy Media Browserβ panel, click βIntroβ, click βFromβ, and select βFrom Left Slowβ.
Then click βConstantβ, click βShakeβ, and select βWiggle Subtleβ.
And finally click βOutroβ, click βToβ, and βTo Right Slowβ.
(And donβt forget to click βUpdateβ at the bottom.)
Now, to customize these animations, click on βIntroβ again, and then click the little βSettingsβ ποΈ button at the bottom. Here we can for example slow down the speed, and change to βLinearβ animation to keep the same speed throughout the animation.
We can do the same thing with the βOutroβ, drag down the speed, and change the animation to βLinearβ.
And finally, we click βConstantβ and decrease the βIntensityβ and then click βUpdateβ.
Now, we can go to the βEffectsβ panel, search for βcrossβ and right click on βCross Dissolveβ and then click βSet selected as Default Transitionβ.
This creates a little blue square around the effect so that when you click something in the βTimelineβ panel and then click βcmd + Dβ, it will add that specific effect to the start and the end of that clip or image.
Then, we put the playhead in the middle of the clip, go to the βEffect Controlsβ panel, and under βTransformβ (which is the effect that Brevidy has generated), we click on the stopwatch β±οΈ next to βScaleβ to remove all keyframes and click βOKβ in the pop-up.
This will make the car have the same size throughout the animation.
And finally, we go up to βMotionβ at the very top of the βEffect Controlsβ panel and increase the βY-valueβ, to move the whole animation down to the bottom, and there we go.
